Tournaments

The Toronto Triggerfish is an active member of the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics (IGLA) organization. Our athletes proudly carry the maple leaf to multiple tournaments throughout each season. Tournament participation is voluntary for Triggerfish athletes.

The following is a partial list of tournaments either hosted or attended by members of IGLA. If you are aware of other tournaments that should be listed, or changes that need to be made to the information already posted here, please let the Tournament Coordinator know at tournaments@triggerfishwaterpolo.ca.

Please Note: This list is for informational purposes only. The Triggerfish will not attend all events on this list and will only send official teams to a few of the tournaments. Our Tournament Coordinator can help bridge connections for individuals who wish to attend other tournaments on their own or as an unofficial group.

OWP Travel Permit

An OWP Travel Permit is MANDATORY for any tournament participation outside of Ontario (also for individual participation on a non-Triggerfish team). To obtain an OWP Travel Permit, please contact the Tournament Coordinator.

OWP/WPC Fees

You must have the proper level of player insurance to participate in a tournament. For more information, please have a look here.

Registration Deadlines

All Triggerfish registration deadlines will be strictly enforced. Exceptions may be made:

1. For goalies.

2. Where there are fewer than 12 field players registered for a recreational team (or a player or players cancel their registration(s), causing the number of registered players to fall below 12).

3. At the coach’s discretion for a competitive team

Cancellation Policy

Triggerfish player tournament registration fees are set according to the tournament host team registration fees, coaching travel costs, and any extra pool time for each tournament. Triggerfish fees for any tournament are not refundable except:

1. in the case of an emergency 

2. for medical reasons

3. where the player withdrawing is replaced by another player not already registered
